Company, which is under the charge of practicing monopoly, is proposed to resolve antitrust case initiated by the European Commission.
Microsoft suggested to include rival browsers Internet Explorer Internet in the next version of its operating system, Windows 7 , to resolve the antitrust case it faces in Europe. The information is the newspaper The Wall Street Journal .
The European Commission said, this Friday (24/7), the U.S. developer of software will include a screen that will allow users to choose alternate browsers to your program.
The company is under indictment monopoly to include your browser in its operating systems. The investigation was suggested in 2007 by the manufacturer of the browser Opera .
In June, Microsoft offered as a solution, remove Internet Explorer from European versions of Windows 7. The suggestion, however, was not well accepted.
This latest offering is the result of many conversations between the company and the Commission, and this window with the options of browsers pre-installed is close to what Europe had suggested to Microsoft.
PC makers can install other browsers and also install them as standard if they want, says the Commission.
Microsoft has proposed to improve interoperability between Windows and rival products Windows Server to finish another antitrust complaint.
The European body also investigate the efficiency of the offer to see if it offers a "real choice" to the user.
